Second Mailing for the 8th ILGA Asia Conference

Second Mailing for the 8th ILGA Asia Conference

You can also read this post from the conference website.

On behalf of ILGA Asia Executive Board, we would like to deliver the second of the three mailings, including all the proposals and nominations from Member Organizations received by ILGA Asia Office.

Member Organizations have 4 weeks to react to these proposals and to propose amendments to them. These amendments must be sent 6 weeks before the conference, that is, by Monday, 8 July 2019. Bids to host the 9th ILGA Asia Conference in 2021 must also be submitted by this date.

The final agenda will be sent by the ILGA Asia office with the third mailing 3 weeks before the conference, i.e. on Monday, 29 July 2019.

The deadline for registration has passed. We will inform the number of delegates to our service providers and start planning within this quota. From this date, we will still accept new registration within our capacity. However, it may be rejected and refunded should our service providers be unable to accommodate new delegates, especially for hotel rooms. August is the peak period for guestrooms in Seoul.

We don’t accept on-site registration.

Proposed change: Any change to this constitution shall be published in Thailand, where ILGA-ASIA is registered.

Adoption of the new Standing Orders

ILGA Asia never adopted its own Standing Orders, so it has been following the Standing Orders of ILGA World Conference. Due to different structure and operational context, Standing Orders of ILGA World cannot always apply to ILGA Asia. There is a need to adopt ILGA Asia’s own Standing Orders.

We therefore enclosed in this Mailing the draft Standing Orders from ILGA Asia Executive Board.

Adoption of the new logo and identity

On Tuesday, 22 January 2019, ILGA World adopted the new logo and visual identity as decided by the ILGA World board. The logo is made of a rotating/static globe, centered on the Pacific Ocean, where all ILGA regions are represented, each one with their own color associated with a color of the rainbow flag. The same designer also created possible logos for the six ILGA regions, using the colors that are in the ILGA World logo.

Since then, ILGALAC, ILGA North America and ILGA Oceania has also adopted the new logo and identity. Each region will decide on its own whether or not to adopt the new logo. The new logos help to describe the relationship among Regions of the ILGA family visually. We therefore enclosed in this Mailing the new logo.
