Adoption of the new Standing Orders

ILGA Asia never adopted its own Standing Orders, so it has been following the Standing Orders of ILGA World Conference. Due to different structure and operational context, Standing Orders of ILGA World cannot always apply to ILGA Asia. There is a need to adopt ILGA Asia’s own Standing Orders.

We therefore enclosed in this Mailing the draft Standing Orders from ILGA Asia Executive Board: [link]

Adoption of the new logo and identity

On Tuesday, 22 January 2019, ILGA World adopted the new logo and visual identity as decided by the ILGA World board. The logo is made of a rotating/static globe, centered on the Pacific Ocean, where all ILGA regions are represented, each one with their own color associated with a color of the rainbow flag. The same designer also created possible logos for the six ILGA regions, using the colors that are in the ILGA World logo.

Since then, ILGALAC has also adopted the new logo and identity. Each region will decide on its own whether or not to adopt the new logo. The new logos help to describe the relationship among Regions of the ILGA family visually. We therefore enclosed in this Mailing the new logo

Nominations to host the 9th ILGA Asia Conference

We would like to present the nominations received by ILGA Asia office by the deadline of July 8th, 2019, following the Second Mailing.

There was only one nomination from ICS Center to host the 9th ILGA Asia Conference in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam in 2021. Full proposal is available here: [link]

Nominations to ILGA Asia Executive Board

We would like to present the nominations received by ILGA Asia Office by the deadline of July 8th, 2019, following the Second Mailing.

All nominations are listed alphabetically by name, followed by the organization there are from, the country their organization is located (as shown in ILGA database), and their gender identity as they have declared it.

Member Organizations submitting the nominations are listed alphabetically by name. Details of the candidates will be shared with all Members in the Third Mailing. You can find more information on nominees here: [link]

Draft Conference Programme

As we are using the Guidebook app to share the programme, you can find the draft conference programme here: [link]. You can also download the app and ILGA Asia conference guide in advance from the link. To download the conference guide, you will need a passphrase which will be sent to participants’ email. Please don't share the passphrase with others for the security reason.

Fees, Votes, and Proxies

Members are reminded that only full members who are up to date with payments of the membership fees are entitled to vote at the conference. Every full member organisation will have two votes and may nominate a proxy (if unable to attend the conference).
[Standing Order 6.3]

“A full member organisation which is not represented at the Conference and which would otherwise be entitled to vote may nominate a person attending the Conference or one of the Steering Committees to exercise by proxy the votes to which the organisation is entitled, in accordance with SO6.”
[Standing Order 5.1]

(Note that the reference to Steering Committees exercising proxy votes does not apply to ILGA Asia Conferences because ILGA Asia does not have Steering Committees.)

You can email your proxies to us by 18 August 2019 by filling in this form.

Organizations that are attending the conference must still designate their representatives who will vote on their behalf. Please use the first part of the Proxy form to designate your representatives who will then vote on behalf of your organization.

We have worked with a community designer from South Korea for this year's ILGA Asia Conference logo. Special thanks to DESIGN STUDIO DADARM (Designer Han Ssong).

If you have any further questions or inquiries before the conference, please don't hesitate to send us an email to info@ilgaasia.org.

See you in Seoul!
