ILGA Asia 2023 Annual Report is Out!

The ILGA Asia 2023 Annual Report reflects our commitment to advancing LGBTIQ rights across Asia, showcasing a year of resilience, progress, and solidarity in the face of significant challenges such as state-sanctioned violence, discriminatory laws, and rising anti-gender movements. We achieved impactful advocacy on global platforms, including the UN, the High-Level Political Forum, and the Commission on the Status of Women, ensuring that LGBTIQ issues remain central to human rights and development agendas. At the grassroots level, we empowered local organizations with seed funding to address urgent community-specific challenges and led targeted campaigns against harmful practices like conversion therapy, mobilizing widespread support for reform. Our digital communications expanded visibility, with numerous social media posts amplifying LGBTIQ voices, engaging communities, and celebrating Pride events in Bangkok and Manila. Through research, we influenced global human rights dialogues, providing evidence-based advocacy that strengthened efforts for decriminalization and inclusivity.

Additionally, our humanitarian projects in Afghanistan provided life-saving aid, resettlement, and mental health support, underscoring our dedication to protecting vulnerable LGBTIQ communities in crisis. We strengthened our organizational foundation by offering leadership training for activists, fostering regional collaboration through initiatives like the Theory of Change Workshop, and enhancing our capacity for strategic advocacy. These efforts have bolstered our ability to unify the LGBTIQ movement and drive meaningful change across Asia. Looking ahead, we are committed to streamlining our efforts, deepening partnerships, and continuing to champion a future where dignity, equality, and freedom are accessible to all LGBTIQ people. Together, we will overcome challenges and ensure that no one is left behind in our pursuit of justice and inclusion.
