ILGA Asia is looking for a full-time Design Intern. Our Design Intern will be creating impactful, bold, and creative designs to help ILGA Asia on our mission to advance LGBTIQ rights in Asia.

Background
ILGA Asia is the Asian Region of the International Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans and Intersex Association, representing East Asia, South Asia, Southeast Asia and West Asia. The Region was first established in Mumbai in 2002. Our vision is a world where Asia is a safe place for all, where all can live in freedom and equality, be properly informed in the nature of sexual orientation and gender identity & expression and sex characteristic (SOGIESC) rights, have access to justice, and diversity is respected.
Our missions are:
To promote universal respect for and observance of human rights and fundamental freedoms, including the elimination of all forms of discrimination and stigmatization based on SOGIESC in Asia and including the specific provisions of the UN conventions and covenants specified in the Constitution of ILGA;
To work for the equality of all people regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity/expression and sex characteristic, as well as liberation from all forms of discrimination and stigmatization; and
To empower and support LGBTIQ communities, organizations and individuals in Asia, while encouraging community building and networking.
Key responsibilities
Brainstorm and create unique and effective visuals and approaches to strengthen ILGA Asia’s communication channels.
Prepare rough drafts and present ideas
Amend graphics based on input and feedback
Ensure final graphics and layouts are visually appealing and on-brand
Requirements and skills
A strong portfolio of design and other skills.
A keen eye for aesthetics and details
Proficiency in design software and tools (Adobe Creative Suite and others).
Flexibility in working and learning different skills and multimedia formats including social media, illustration, videos and more.
Excellent communication skills.
A Bachelor’s degree in design, fine arts or a related field is an asset.
Previous experience, either as a volunteer or an employee, in an LGBTIQ organisation or nonprofit sector, is a plus
A Passion for social justice and LGBTIQ rights in Asia.
Internship conditions
The intern will work from their current location.
The exact working hours and dates can be flexible, but a candidate should be available to work full-time (37.5 hours/week).
The intern will receive an honorarium of 500 USD a month for the duration of their internship.
The intern will be recognized in all publications and activities that they are contributing to.
