Protect Transgender and Gender Diverse People from the Pandemic of Violence and Discrimination

At ILGA Asia, we want to reiterate the call by local activists to the government of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar. We also urge the government of Myanmar to bring the violators to justice, punish the bullying behaviors, while providing opportunities to educate them and general public on discrimination based on sexual orientation, gender identity and expression.
ILGA Asia calls on the Government of Brunei to halt the implementation of the Sharia Penal Code, and engage meaningful consultations with the communities most affected by the law, such as LGBT community, women, as well as with other human rights bodies and experts. We urge the Government to uphold its obligations to protect the rights and lives of its population.
Between February 8-11, the First Asian Intersex Forum took place in Bangkok, Thailand, bringing together 14 intersex people from across Asia. Together, they drafted a Public Statement by the Asian Intersex Movement, and a Media Statement announcing the new regional network, Intersex Asia. Read them here!
