The ILGA Asia 2023 Annual Report is here, and we are excited to share the collective progress, challenges, and reflections that have shaped our journey over the past year.
In 2023, ILGA Asia worked hand in hand with our dedicated members, partners, and allies across the region to push forward the movement for LGBTIQ equality. From hosting convenings and dialogues, to building regional solidarity and capacity, to responding to emerging threats and opportunities, this year has been one of action, adaptation, and impact.
Within the report, you’ll find key highlights of our advocacy efforts, organizational growth, and programmatic work—from elevating voices at international platforms to supporting grassroots activism in countries where visibility remains risky. We also reflect on the institutional strengthening that continues to anchor our long-term sustainability and deepen our commitment to intersectional justice.
As always, the journey has not been without challenges. From shrinking civic spaces to increasing anti-LGBTIQ rhetoric in various parts of Asia, our report does not shy away from acknowledging the realities our communities and partners face. Yet through it all, we’ve seen immense resilience—of individuals who continue to organize, of organizations that adapt and grow, and of movements that hold the line and demand more.
This report is a tribute to all who have been part of this work—whether as advocates, donors, collaborators, or allies. We invite you to dive into the full report, reflect on the lessons and achievements of the year, and continue standing with us in building a future where every LGBTIQ person in Asia can live with dignity, freedom, and pride.
